To many, perfume is the most intimate way of expressing your inner self and truest personality. Although scent is subjective to taste, there are several fragrances that have gone viral due to their unique scents. So, here are the most popular perfumes ever (this is highly subjective and is based on a small data set).

Interested in this, the experts at OnBuy Men’s Aftershave and OnBuy Women’s Perfume wanted to find out which fragrances are the most popular on TikTok. To do this, they analysed the total number of views attributed to each fragrance’s hashtag and now the data can be revealed!

OnBuy Men’s Aftershave can reveal ranking at in first place for men’s aftershaves, with a staggering 114,000,000 views on TikTok, is Sauvage by Dior. This woody, aromatic, fragrance currently retails for an average of £112.00 a bottle – 32% more expensive than rival French brand, Bleu de Chanel, which comes in third (45,400,000 views).

In second place with 51,900,000 views on TikTok is Eros by Versace. This minty fragrance, launched in 2013, currently retails for an average of £85.00 a bottle -25% more expensive than Diamonds For Men by fellow Italian brand, Armani, which finishes in tenth place (10,700 views).

In third place is Bleu de Chanel by Chanel with 45,400,000 views. Bearing similar notes to Sauvage by Dior, this fragrance is also woody and aromatic, and it retails for an average of £102.00. Despite being 32% cheaper than its French rival, Bleu de Chanel has received 60% less views on the social media platform.

Taking the lead, OnBuy Women’s Perfume can reveal the most popular female fragrance according to TikToker’s with 26,400,000 views is another Dior classic – Miss Dior. This fragrance retails for an average of £118.00 a bottle, which is 5% more expensive than the most popular men’s fragrance, Dior Sauvage, however Miss Dior has received 77% less views on the social media platform.

With 6,300,000 views on TikTok, Lady Million by Paco Rabanne is a clear favourite following in second. Retailing for an average price of £91.88 per bottle, the female version of this fragrance is 22.5% more expensive than its male counterpart, 1 Million, with Lady Million also securing 98% more views on the social media platform. 

In third place is the viral Black Opium by Yves Saint Laurent, with a total of 2,900,000 views. Black Opium was released in 2014 and is an amber- vanilla fragrance retailing for an average of £104.00 a bottle. 

Black Opium by YSL is one of the most popular perfumes ever, according to TikTok.
