Sister Monica, The Nun Who Went Viral On TikTok

Sister Monica goes by @nunsenseforthepeople on TikTok and has over 48,000 followers. Why? Because her skin is amazing.

She was bombarded with requests for her skincare routine.

Then her ‘nunly skincare, video went viral, amassing over 277,000 views on TikTok.

Claudette Monica Powell, an Episcopal nun, is the women behind @nunsenseforthepeople. She told Insider, she wanted to make “random funny videos”, for her sister and friends on TikTok.

However, in a short timeframe, her account blew up. Her first TikTok famous video was about a wild turkey terrorising her New Jersey convent, which blew up last month.

After that, her followers started asking about her skincare routine. Which she duly dropped.

If you’re wondering what her secret is, unsurprisingly, it’s no sun.

In the video, which now has 71k likes, she proclaims she hasn’t really been in the sun ‘ever since the ’90s’.

Sister Monica added that an Aveeno oatmeal wash from the baby department is her go-to because everything else irritates her skin.

Summing up her tips, she advised followers: “Carry a parasol and shoot in low light, and use baby stuff on your skin.”

Her advice is very much in tune with what the beauty community says about ageing. SPF is your best friend and the sooner you use it the better your skin will be.
