Sharon Chuter sky rocketed in prominence last year. She is the beauty brand founder who started the ‘Pull Up or Shut Up’ challenge. Doing so in response to the BLM protests.
Prior to that she was recognised in the beauty industry for her brand Uoma beauty. Now she plans to expand her empire with a new brand launching exclusivity with Walmart.
The new brand will be called ‘Uoma by Sharon C’. It will only be available via its own website and Walmart.
The range went live on June 18th. It’s USP is a large and diverse range of skin care and colour cosmetics, with prices ranging from $6 to $24.
The new line includes a 30-shade foundation range, natural cleansing oil and a volumizing mascara.
A 30-shade foundation range won’t come as a surprise for Uoma fans. Their website states apart of their mission is ‘to re-write the rules of inclusivity and diversity to create a world of beauty that truly is for all of us.’
The website goes on to say ‘our race is human, our people are free, our language is colour. All are welcome to our beautiful tribe.’
Inclusivity is clearly an important part of the brand identity for Nigerian born, LA & London based former beauty executive Sharon Chuter.
In a press release for the launch of her new line, Chuter made sure to re-iterate that ‘best of all, inclusivity is still at the heart of this range’.
Along with ‘price accessibility, high performance and the intersectionality between caring for ourselves yet being mindful of the planet we live in.’
#UOMAbySharonC is now available exclusively at 3,365 Walmart stores and online at uomabeauty.com
