As of June 2021, Ulta beauty, will have a new CEO. Here’s everything we know about the transition.

After eight years Mary Dillon, the current Ulta Beauty CEO will transition out of the role and hand it over to Dave Kimbell.

Dave Kimbell is currently the President of Ulta Beauty, who after having been with the company for seven years, seems perfectly poised to take over the role.

Dillion, described Dave as a ‘world-class business leader with incredible passion’ to the press last week.

Kimbell added that he is ‘humbled to serve as the next CEO of Ulta Beauty’ and complimented Dillion’s leaderships as ‘transformation and creating long lasting impact’.

Ulta Beauty recently launched their own ‘beauty collective’ this year featuring a variety of influencers.

What does this mean for Ulta Beauty?

At the moment, it’s hard to tell. Give that Kimbell has already been apart of the leadership team at Ulta for several years, there may not be huge changes.

However, maybe they don’t need to change? Their goal of brining affordable products to people across America is still an excellent business model, that may not require any change.

Dillion is expected to stay on as the executive chair of the Board of Directors for another year. She will be replacing Robert DiRomulad who previously held the position for three years.

DiRomulad said of the transition that the Board of Directors are ‘thankful for Mary’s commitment and leadership which firmly established Ulta Beauty’s culture and valued financial performance and value creation throughout her tenure’.
