Beauty Salons Will Be Told Friday If They Can Restart Facials And Eyebrow Treatments

New information from the government is coming after a spike in coronavirus cases in the UK.

The PM pushed back the date Brits could get up-close treatments after a planned reopening on August 1 after coronavirus cases spiked.

Appointments for eyebrow waxing and other close-contact beauty treatments were closed with just a day’s notice back at the end of July. It came as covid-19 cases began to rise and parts of the UK were thrown into local lockdowns.

But Brits with unruly eyebrows will be able to get their hopes up again, as the PM’s spokesperson said there would be an announcement this week.

The Prime Minister’s official spokesman said today: “When we paused that section of the roadmap, I think we said it was until the end of this week at the earliest.

“We will continue to review the data and at the end of this week we will set out a decision on whether or not we are able to go ahead with the opening of those remaining sectors of the economy.”

It is understood that ministers will meet on Thursday to discuss changes to the rules – with a decision likely to come on Friday.

However, because the decision is yet to be discussed by ministers, it is difficult to understand what effect the outcome will have on the troubled beauty industry but excited salons have already started taking bookings for the treatments they were forced to strike off their menu – but are waiting for the final go ahead from the PM.
