Pixi Beauty Glow Tonic Review

Written by:

Brand: Pixi by Petra

Skin type: Dry, Normal, Oily skin

How to use: Saturate a cotton pad with the tonic and sweep across face, neck and décolletage (avoiding eye area). Can be used AM and PM after cleansing.

Ingredients: Water/Aqua/Eau, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Glycolic Acid, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Sodium Hydroxide, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Leaf Extract, Aesculus Hippocastanum (Horse Chestnut) Seed Extract, Hexylene Glycol, Fructose, Glucose, Sucrose, Urea, Dextrin, Alanine, Glutamic Acid, Aspartic Acid, Hexyl Nicotinate, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Biotin, Panthenol, PPG-26-Buteth-26, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance (Parfum), Caramel, Red 4 (CI 14700)

How does it smell? It definitely has a distinctive scent, I think it’s the ginseng in it. It not clinical but also not overly sweet or floral. It’s ever so slightly herbaceous.

How does it feel? It’s a very light, liquid that is easy to move around the face

Cost? It varies depending on the size but generally £18 for 250 ml.

How long did I test for? 2 Years. I know this is a bit late but at least you know this has been thoroughly tested!

What I liked? It is one of the best chemical exfoliators I’ve ever used! The glycolic acid removes excess dirt from my skin like nothing else and I never realised how ineffectively I had been exfoliating before I used this. I only realised because the products I had been using for so long somehow worked SO much better with this! I like the ginseng because it offers the calm effect that you may need when using an acid. It is so comfortable to use. It really is an essential product in my opinion that I think everyone should have in their kit.

What I disliked? What I dislike about it has less to do with the product and more to do with chemical exfoliation in general. Over-exfoliating is a real thing and I definitely did that what this. I used it twice a day – EVERYDAY and yes it made my skin sensitive. I wish I knew more about skincare before I started using this but I would defiantly suggest using it at least every other day.

Would I buy again? I already have at least 3 times!

Where can you purchase? CultBeauty.com for international shipping.
