Exfoliation is an important step in skincare regime’s. Here are some of my go to recipes for a good, cheap and effective scrub.
New skin cells are constantly being produced in the inner layer of the skin, the dermis, this causes old skin cells to be pushed back. If we don’t remove them through exfoliation, it can leave the skin looking dull and rough. Also the old cells cause acne and blemishes by clogging your pores.
Below are my top 3 cheap, homemade scrubs that can all be made using ingredients in your cupboard.
The Lemon and Sugar Scrub
2 drops of Lemon Juice (antioxidant proerties)
2 -3 drops Water
2-3 tbsp of Demerara Sugar
All you need to do is mix it all together in a ball! That’s all! You can scrub it all over your face being careful to avoid your delicate eye area.
The Coconut Oil Scrub
This one is even easier! Just miss up 1tbsp of melted coconut oil with 2 tbsp of whiter sugar and you have yourself a moisturising scrub! It always leaves my skin feeling silky.
The Quinoa Scrub
1/4 cup of white sugar (the only time I use it)
1/4 cup sea salt
1/4 olive oil
1 tbsp of quinoa
20 drops of lavender oil
Again with this quick and easy scrub all you have to do is mix everything together. Once done keep in airtight jars, they tend to last a long time.
