Keep your skin glowing and replenished all summer long with a few of my personal summer skincare tips.
Ther are a few things more irritating in the world than trying to keep your skin looking fresh, not oily in sweltering temperatures. It’s a difficult task finding a balance between hydrating your skin and reducing the shine on your face, so keep reading to find out how I find my equilibrium when this season roles around.
First step is exfoliation. It is key removing old skin cells on your face to keep the skin from becoming clogged and allowing a good base for which put your other products on. You can work your products in with better results.
For this I start with a new found favourite of mine; Aseop Purifying Facial Exfoliating (£35). This is such a good exfoliate for summer because it hydrates, aswell as doing its intended job, using ingredients such as lavender and evening primrose. Quartz it the exfoliant it is very gentle, it does the job perfectly leaving the skin looking polished.

After a good exfoliate you can use micellar water to finish off your skin polish. My personal fave for this is the garnier micellar water. It really removes everythung! If you want to know more about micellar water I have another post explaining it! If however you feel like your skin needs an even deeper cleanse reach for a glycolic acid wash.
Neostrata Glycolic Foaming Wash is a great one (£22.99)
Next up is a good mouiterzer containing DNA repair enzymes. The enzymes work to mitigate the effects of sun exposure. Dr May DNA Night Renewal (£82.00) is perfect for those of you with a busy lifestyle because you apply it as you sleep so you can let the cream do its magic and wake up feeling replenished.
Another one of my fave beauty hacks is to wear hydrating mask either to bed or in high humidity (like flying). It’s like giving your skin a blast of water. I switch between Clarins Hydraquench (£23.85) and Origins Drink Up Intensive (£24.00). Both are similar in price and effectiveness but the Origins one smells amazing!
Lastly SPF is essential to reduce the long term damaging effects of the sun. I love La Roche Posay Clear Skin 50+ (£16.50)
I adore this mainly because it is oil free meaning less oil on my skin in general which makes me feel protected and refreshed.
Hope this helped. X
